Dear Mom
For so long you made me feel like I belonged
I knew you’d never steer me wrong
With you by my side I knew I’d always have a guide
But in the past year when I looked around and you weren’t here
Off in your room, only occasionally coming near
I left to somewhere far away and learned you’d only taught me to hide
Out on my own I learned how to grow
Who I am now is hard to know
But dear mother I’ll always love you like no other
