Dear Mom

Dear Mom,

I’m sorry I’m not who you want me to be,

I’m sorry I’m not perfect,

Not even a little bit, or even at all,

I am loud and, clumsy and, messy,

I make a lot of mistakes,

I’m sorry that I cry a lot,

That I break with the slightest raise of your voice

I’m sorry that I don’t always try my best,

Or sometimes, try at all

I wish I could be that person you want me to be

The one who is quiet and, graceful and, neat,

Who thinks ahead before starting anything

A person who has control over their emotions,

Someone who does their best no matter what,

But I am not,

I guess what I’m trying to say is

I’m sorry for being me

Sincerely,

Morgan
