Dear Mom

The wind still blows my long blonde hair

Always reminding me that you’re still here… somewhere.

I seek your guidance everyday

But realize you have nothing to say.

One of the hardest parts of losing you is forgetting.

Forgetting your laugh,

Your voice,

Your loving touch,

And realizing that the time we had was never enough.

It would never be enough.

You won’t be there for my graduation,

My wedding,

Or the day my children are born.

But your presence will be there,

And you will be in my heart forevermore.

I miss the way you played with my hair.

Your strong embrace,

And your love so fair.

But on the days I feel I miss you most

I take a breath,

And I feel you close.

Because I know you will always be here,

And I will make you proud I swear.
