Dear Mom

Dear Mom,

I love you, but you hurt me.  I just wanted you to accept me, not the idea of what you wanted me to be.  I was never skinny enough, pretty enough, good enough.  I know I will always be a dissapointment to you, but I have learned to accept that.  The pain you put me through has made me a stronger person.  With time, I have come to understand that you were hurting too.  I'm sorry that you had a hard life, but I am not sorry that I've become the person I am today.  I am strong, intelligent, beautiful, I am who I want to be.
