Dear Mom and Dad

Dear Mom and Dad

thank you for saving my life

I know at times it must be sad

seeing me long for the end of a knife

but know I'm glad I'm here

even if my thoughts I fear

I know I'm not the little boy

who used to play out in the street

or make a story with a toy

or draw scary monsters on my feet

but I am still your son

even with the things I have done

I know sometimes it must be hard

to have to watch me be in pain

but I hope I show you in this card

you are my sunshine through the rain

I hope that I can make you see

I'm really glad that you saved me
