Dear Mom and Dad,

Dear Mom and Dad,

I’m sorry I was so emotional the day you both talked to me about it, I was expecting it for months but hearing it from you was my breaking point I guess.

Things were not looking bright.

Please don’t be mad at David for telling me before you guys, he figured i’m old enough and can handle the news.

I thought when the light went out I wouldn't be afraid, guess I was wrong.

Truth be told, this is all kinda scary to me. I’ve always had friends growing up who had split parents and I always thought that’d never happen to us, it’s not your fault though, this stuff just happens.

I hope you know that even though i’m bad at showing it, I will always appreciate everything you’ve done for me. Sorry that i’m lazy, selfish, ungrateful, rude and a bunch of other things on top of those.

It gets pretty hard to see light when everything is so dark around me.

I think I’ll be alright though, all the things you told me have helped me see that this won’t be all bad.

The light will be back soon, I can tell.

Thanks again,

Daniel
