Dear Mom and Dad,

Dear Mom and Dad,

How did I ever get so blessed

To be the one that you possessed?

While I was unexpected and not part of your plan

You both changed everything to provide everything you possibly can

And I'm so happy that I was lucky enough to be a part of your clan

As I reflect on my life so far

It's been as sparkling as the sky's brightest star

I think of myself as the luckiest girl in the world

That I get to be a part of the greatest family this world's ever told

Never in my life will I be able to repay you

For the love and sacrifice from you two

Whenever I feel really down

You somehow find a way to not let me drown

You lift me up when life feels hard to handle

And allow me to realize some problems are as big as the dirt from my sandal

Forever and always you both will be my closest friend

The only two people I can count on until the end

Since going to college, I've never felt so grateful

My appreciation and gratitude can be hard for me to handle

I don't say "thank you" or "I love you" as much as I should

And that's something I don't think I really understood

You're not only two mentors I undoubtedly respect

But the two people I look up to the most and have the biggest effect

I hope one day I can come close to being a person just like you guys

I would view that as the highest prize

Thanks for sticking by my side

I know it's been the wildest ride

Thanks for giving me the best life a girl could ask for

I'm sorry for sometimes being quite the chore

You are absolutely the best and favorite people I know; and whew

I just really, really, really love you
