Dear Mother
Mother, oh Mother, Sweet and dear
seen afar unblemished do you appear
Slowly you spin in graceful twirls
Warm is your bosom to which we cling
In our ears softly you sing
Heavy are the lids of our closing eyes
Deaf are our ears of Mother's hushed cries
Every morn Mother waits
with out stretched arms
and a welcoming smile
She fills our stomachs
and washes us clean
with clear water
from the sparkling spring
Dear Mother is gentle
but her love is tough
freely she gives life's lessons course
any to hear is one's own choice
Listen, oh listen to our Mother's voice
Troubled is she
for her children she sees
are spoiled and corrupt
with human greed
Those children she loved
To them she gave
was never enough
for their endless hunger to wave
The more they grew
of her the less they knew
Scurrying from here and there
Searching for miles to reach the end of nowhere
When her wrath did come
to her did they look
surprised to see
Mother so angry
From her core she shook
did the ground then tremble
Above, the sky did darken
and cast upon us a storm of hail
Calling upon the sea did she make the waters swell
soon to swallow the land and us as well
The waters that came were not that of sparkling blue
but instead a color of greenish brown
and carried a putrid smell throughout the town
The hail she spat was that of black
The tears she poured were of acid rain
When at last we saw our Mother plain
did she calm her rage
and begin to sing
with open ears
now did we hear
the song of our dear Mother's Melody
