Dear Mother

Dear Mother

Do you know what love is?

It's certainly not you letting father scream and yell

Dear Mother

Do you know what love is?

It's certainly not you insisting I will never be enough

Dear Mother

Do you know what love is?

It's unquestionably not you manipulating everyone around you

Dear Mother

Do you know what love is?

It's without a doubt not you always putting me second to yourself

Dear Mother

Do you know what love is?

Love is Mrs. Yarbrough always lending an ear

Love is my brothers always holding me when I'm distraught

Dear Mother

Do you know what love is?
