Dear Mother

Dear Mother,

Your lack of satisfaction resulted in my lack of identity.

Your lack of presence resulted in my lack of trust.

Your lack of responsibility resulted in my lack of self-worth.

My dear mother, your lack of compassion has resulted in my fierce aspiration to offer an abundance of love to the world.

Your words once pierced through my soul.

Your fists once pierced through my skin.

Your screams once pierced through my mind.

My beloved mother, your corroded heart can no longer pierce through the worth that my life holds.

I set myself free.

I disentangled myself from the web of lies you engraved into my head.

I forgive you.

The light you tried so hard to diminish has only shined brighter through the adversity.

I hope my love pierces through the shell you have intricately buried yourself within, so you too may be set free.

With fervent love,

Your Daughter
