Dear Mr. Nobody

If I told you I was leaving.

Would you ask me where and why?

If I jumped off a building.

Would you catch me when I fall?

If I told you I was ill.

Would you stay by my side?

If I wrote you fifty letters.

Would you read each one that night?

Now you answered all my questions with a waver in your voice,

shaky hands and darting eyes.

Yet I’ll look past it every time

because I’ve known you all my life.

So, I’ll ask you one more question just to see if your like the rest.

If I asked you if you love me.

Would you lie like the rest?
