Dear My Future

Dear Future Me,

Hey.

Are you everything you inspired to be?

With a stable job, nine to five

Having someone special waiting home for you

With little children roaming around

Finally finding happiness

Hey.

Or are you actually wandering in the streets?

Wearing the latest rags

Imploring passersby for a bit of coin

Seeing the stars every time you go to sleep

Having found happiness

Hey.

Or are you what you feared?

In the same place

With the same people

With the same personality

Never progressing forward one inch

Still looking for that happiness

Hey…

Are you happy wherever you are, whoever you are?

You might not remember this you who wrote

Or find this in the future

But I wish and hope that we found what we were looking for, be it successful, homeless, or the same

Happiness

Sincerely,

The Forgotten Past Me
