Dear Myself
You have grown to admire
To feel safe within yourself
To carry yourself freely,
Without the eyes of the world restraining you back.
You won the battle
And pranced the flag of victory
Tears shed down your weary face
Finally, it was over
But it was only a battle
The war was far from ending
Reeling you back in,
The “helpful” commentary once again
Stung like a bee’s painful stinger
Stares caused waves of uncertainty
Like a puzzle you fell apart
You stand tall
Head held high
Sometimes.
Other times
It comes crashing down
Nevertheless you continue to fight
The battle persisting
Winning most and losing a few
But you will get through.
