I miss you

It’s been nearly three years

Since last I saw you

I try to forget you

I remember the day I met you

There were no fireworks

No bells ringing or angels singing

Just a smile

That was it for a while

But soon words came

But the smile and the glances

They never left

They never will

I say that with sorrow

I say that with regret

But also with relief

In some ways it makes it easier

Sometimes I wonder

If it was all in my head

If those smiles were empty

Just a hope or a wish

You were different

In your eyes I existed

I wasn’t invisible

Someone I’ll never forget
