Dear Nobody,

Dear Nobody,

Hello again,

It’s been a little while.

I’m just out here searching,

I’m searching for a smile.

If you’re reading this,

It isn’t meant for you,

It’s for the one who doesn’t hear.

Maybe, if you understand, you should write him too.

Dear Nobody,

I’m back again

I still don’t have much to say.

I’m trying, oh how I’m trying,

But I really don’t think I’ll stay.

I’m fighting a losing battle,

Though I’ll pretend I already won

I’m down here on my knees

And I’m praying to the Son.

Dear Nobody,

Are you listening?

Do you hear my silent cry?

Will anybody help me,

Before I go and die?

Do you see my tears,

And the scars along my arm?

Will you hold out a friendly hand,

Before I do more harm?

Dear nobody,

This is it.

I will not write again.

But please, do not forget me.

Do not forget this pen.
