Dear OCD
Dear OCD,
I’ve known you all of my life;
Though I didn’t know
your name until now….
I thought everything
was normal; I was always
told that it was…But
deep down, I always knew
Nothing about how I
felt was normal. But I
had convinced myself
that it was
I convinced myself that
counting everything possible,
or checking things more than
necessary, or turning a doorknob
an obsessive amount of times
Was my normal
It wasn’t until I got
the panic I got in my
chest when I didn’t do these things
that I realized
This. was. not. normal.
However...you are a part of me...
a part of my life that will
not go away….something that
makes me who I am
My OCD, makes me ME.
