Dear Old Me

keep thinking about the way you grew

And the way you change the way I see

I feel old and the way you wrapped me with that shiny paper...

Dear old me,

I was torn and damaged

I felt trapped not free

The way I managed,

Wasn’t at ALL healthy.

Dear old me,

I keep thinking about that one mistake

Blaming others for not letting me be,

When in reality, my soul would be my own snake

But I am glad

That I am liberated

From your prison and greed,

That used to consume me
