Dear The One Who Left

You are engrained in me

A virus under my skin

And scrubbing only makes me bleed

You are the wind in the trees and the rays of sunshine in the sky

And it makes me want to hide in a dark room

With no windows and no way out

You are the songs in my playlist

Arrangements of notes that

Make me want dance to the sound of silence

You are memories of summer

And it makes me long for a winter

So long and so cold that the world does not recover

You are the fireworks in the sky

An array of colors so bright

I wish I could turn on the lights

You are a speaker of songs

And it makes me want to plug my ears

So to never be bewitched by your melodies

You are the stars in the sky

A once twinkling of warm light

That I know know to be a thousand miles away

You're not good for me

And now I don't want you to be.

With sincerity, The One Who Broke
