Dear Overthinking

Dear Overthinking

I think we spend too much time together

I want to break things off between us

I can’t spend as much time as I do agonizing over decision

I can’t spend the rest of my life worrying about whether I picked the right path

You always say to me

“What if that’s not the right choice?”

“What if you’ve made a mistake”

“Maybe it would be better to do nothing at all”

But that’s the thing

Doing nothing is the wrong choice

100% of the time

Second guessing is a plague

It’s your fault, and I just can’t deal with it anymore

I usually pick the right answer on the first try

But you tell me that I didn’t

Do you know how hard that is?

Not only to speculate that others doubt my credibility

But to doubt it myself

Just isn’t something I can handle

Do you know how hard it is?

You have to

You’re living in the same place as anxiety and apathy

You know what it’s like to live with those two

You have to be around them every second of every day

Guess what?

So

Do

I

I would like to have more confidence in myself

I think everyone other than Tony Stark would

There’s not much I can do to make myself bolder

Brighter

Harder working

Better

But seeing you leave will be the first step towards progress

Honestly, I’m not super happy to see you leave

We’ve known each other for a long time

But out of all my personified personality flaws

You seem like the easiest one to get rid of

Plus, you never pay your third of the figurative rent

Anxiety and apathy are useful to some degree sometimes

But you never catch anything I’ve missed

So for those reasons

I never want to see you again

Goodbye and good riddance

P.S.

Your figurative belongings are in your imaginary car

And I’m going to want the pretend house key back
