Dear Pain

Dear Father and mother,

I do see the tears and blood

streaming down your face

And I wish I could say

                                                Something

                                Anything

                But I am afraid

                                If I start,

                                                I won’t stop

                Every pre-conceived notion

                                Made up angers

                                Made up issues

                All of them

                                Will rush forward

And create a real divide

And there will never be

Enough ways to say Sorry

Enough Tears to cry

Enough Laughs or

Lies

To fill it up

The crack will widen and

                never again

                                will we be

family

I am unwanted

                Loved but

                                                despised

every label, award, point

                lost

                                never reached – always expected

What can I do?

                every promise, every breath

a constant reminder

a failure
