Dear Papa
Hey papa, it's been 5 years since you left this earth.
How are things up there? Is heaven really what the Bible says?
Ah man, I miss you so much.
I remember it,as if it was yesterday.
December 22, 2012.
What an awful day it was for me. Just a little before Christmas.
You left me.
It wasn't your fault, for maybe it was only your time.
But I need you more than ever. You've missed so much.
I grew to be a beautiful, intelligent young woman just as you said.
Although you left me, and I was young you taught me alot.
You taught me to love, to fight, and to be great in all that I do.
It is tough in this day in time to do so, but I do it.
I am in college now, pursing a degree in Nursing and even minoring in Spanish.
My hopes to be bilingual are endearing.
However, I really wished my school offered a sign language class.
That would be awesome.
I am working two jobs.
I am only 20 years old, but I hustle hard and do what I have to do.
Ma and sissy are doing well. I'll tell them I spoke to you today.
Oh yeah, not sure how you would take this but I got your name tatted on me.
I know you aren't really a fan of ink, and I know your forever in my heart.
But having you tatted on me is just my way of appreciation and to show others,
How important enough you are to actually be on my body.
There is so much more I would like to share with you. But my time is up.
Maybe in the next life, we'll meet again Papa.
I love you so, so, so, so, so much.
And I wish I could just scream that and there was a way you could scream it back.
But until we meet again... xoxo
Sincerly,
Your youngest granddaughter
