Dear Past Generations

Dear Past Generations,

Thank you

So much

For destroying the world

Your world

My world

OUR world

The one that humanity has spent all of existence to create

The one that you and me have had placed on our shoulders

The one that you were expected to fix

The problem is

You fixed all the wrong things

Your dreamed up "Tomorrowland"

Was a mistake

You forgot about ethics

You forgot about virtue

You forgot all the things your parents worked so hard to teach you

Where did the values they instilled in you go?

You built yourself a never ending cycle of crushed hopes and dreams

And we are responsible to break it

You say the world is in our hands now

That we are the hope for the future

Are we destined to end up like you?

Are we responsible for creating a better society

When you have taught us nothing but lies?

Are we not just as hopeless as you?

Forced to conform to a society that claims we support individuality

Yet we are forced to think a certain way

In fear of offending someone else

So on behalf of my generation

Thank You

For nothing
