Dear Past Me

Dear Past Me,

You are only just beginning a long and tiring journey

to find who you are and to let go of who you never truly were.

It is a journey that will wear you down to your core until you are struggling

just to drag your weary bones through every seemingly endless day.

There will come many a time in which you want nothing more

than to tell everyone goodbye and leave yourself behind.

I only ask that you hold on through those days,

because there really is a light waiting at the end of your tunnel.

Like the seeds carried on a heavy breeze, you too will one day settle

and finally begin to grow into what you were always meant to be.

Stick around long enough to see that day.

With Love,

Your Future Self
