Dear Past Me
Dear past Me,
How’s life faring?
I know the fears that are going through your mind,
Your heart.
I know the pain shooting your legs into submission,
To darkness.
I feel the cries you shout out with plastered smiles,
Threatening tears.
Why are you sad?
I know your love is gone,
Never coming back.
I know your emotions left,
Never being intact.
I know you hate and love so much,
But you’re not going back.
Dear past Me,
Dear old me,
Dear New Me:
You’re going to be all right.
You’re going to face this,
With a tightened fist.
You’re going to survive.
You’re still here with Him,
Always by your side.
Fear, Pain, Sorrow
They won’t go away tomorrow.
But in the walls you’ve caved yourself in,
Are tumbling down to reveal
The truest Me you could’ve ever seen.
