Dear Past Self

To my past self

life is always going to be hard

I won't lie to you

I won't tell you that it gets better

I won't tell you that you get bigger

I won't tell you how you look

Instead, I would rather you love yourself

There is no need to worry about looks

There is no need to worry about the words they say

There is no need to worry about that

Focus

Focus on school

It's the one thing that we both have heard

That is horrible advice

Make friends

there will come a time when you will need them

Don't be scared of how they look at you

Don't be scared of how they may treat you

Just say hi and try to talk

give up on that group of girls

if they wanted to be friends you would be friends by now

instead, talk to someone else

still, talk to the new kids

make them feel welcomed

even if they hate you for it

be kind like always

stand up for yourself more

and to my past self

what they say isn't true

and sometimes read both forwards and backwards
