Dear Paw Paw

Dear Paw Paw,

I miss you! I really do!

When you left this world, my world split in two.

I miss the times we've spent together, laughing and jokes,

watching old movies and your cooking stays in my mind the most.

Eggs sunny side-up, bacon in the pan, rice with butter and my coffee in hand.

Your breakfast was so filling and your dinner was off the walls,

missed the smell of your Spagetti and Meatballs traveling down the halls.

You were so funny and your laugh was contagious,

especially at those people on the tv that acted outragous.

You gave us memories that keeps on coming,

like when you were outside while it was raining and thundering,

and a loud thunderclap sent inside running.

Oh we laugh and reminise about that everytime we think or talk about you.

Loved when you would give me and my sister 20 dollars,

and you protected and took care of us like you were our own fathers.

Though you were the strongest person I've ever seen,

if someone messed with us, you would get mean.

I remember when me and my mom had to go to New Zealand because of my dad,

that the one time I saw that you were extremely mad.

Leaving from my home at the age of six,

seeing you wipe your eyes is a picture that will always stick.

I knew it hurt to see your daughter and granddaughter leave and go across the world,

knowing it may be the last time you'll probably see your daughter and grandgirl.

Us coming back to the USA was the happiest day,

because we took away the hurt and wiped those "farewell" tear away.

2011 was the year that we got the most devestating news in our live,

the demon who loves to take you and your family on a stage dive... Cancer.

Hearing that cut me deep,

I was so scared and tried NOT to weep.

But, I still cried in fear ,

even you, shedded a few tears.

I remember seeing a man with strength and fiery,

 because so frail,weak, and weary

That was that the hardest visual for a 13 year old girl!

I went through so much anger with God, asking Him, Why MY PAW PAW, WHY?

Please oh Lord, Don't let him die!!"

July 3, 2011, the day God was ready to relieve you from your pain,

you suffered enough so He loosed those chains.

You left this earth to go where there is no crying or dying,

just Joy, Peace, Happiness, and Reuniting!

We wore white to your funeral to symbolize the celebration of Heaven's new angel.

I went through trying not to think you were gone,

drepression was my friend that wouldn't leave me alone.

Dark clouds followed me as I walked with a mask,

because smiling infront of people was becoming the hardest task.

I'm 20 now, and just accepted the reason God took you home.

I'm happy to know you're smiling with no pain,

and the peace of mind you've gained.

I don't eat rice or spagetti anymore

because the way you made it is the way I adore.

I miss you Paw Paw and I love you so much!

Now, Rest in enternal Love, Peace and Happiness that will never be crushed!

                                                                  Love Always,

                                                                     Shadayja Bush aka Daisy
