Dear Poem of Mine
Why must you taunt me so
With your blank face
And meaningless words?
I look at you for hours on end
And you look back,
Mockery in your eyes;
I try to express myself to you
Yet you only laugh;
My words mean nothing,
That much is clear,
So I retrace my steps to try again
And again
And again.
But nothing seems to work;
Why must you be so difficult
O' poem of mine?
I look at your face for hours
But nothing comes to fruition;
Is there no way to end this endless cycle?
When was the last time you spoke to me?
I try to talk to you
But my words fail me;
And so all I can do is stare
While you stare back at me.
