Dear Poetry,
Why must you bring about these feelings in me?
Causing my heart to rapidly beat
I cherished the times that we have spent
Felt like I could tell you anything
At times I would cry and cry about life
Just reminiscing telling myself why?
You helped me cope with all my issues
As if you were my box of personal tissues
The days that I had felt so alone
I’d come to you for a shoulder to cry on
Opened my notebook and thought for a while
I’d write and write my own story
No care in the world
Just me being free
To imagine a world without poetry
Is like a world without food to eat
Without you I swear I wouldn’t know what to do
That is why I must say
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Your biggest fan
