Dear Procrastination

Dear Procrastination

You were always a pain in my plans

For you always were a madman

Making future motivations

Seem like faraway locations

“Another hour” you say, “can hurt at all”

“After all, that paper is only due in the fall”

So, another hour with friends and games

Another hour with no aims

Other than getting the top score

On Halo Four

Until suddenly, out of the blue

Oh God, Oh Lord, The Due Date is due

I rush and I panic to get it done

With only mere hours and a grade barely won

Scolding myself for being so foolish

As to listen to the voice that seemed so coolish

The new year is here, and as a resolution

I wash you away like ablution

Good bye Procrastination

I hope you stay far away in your forced vacation.
