Dear Protector

Dear Protector,

You were there to help an ordinary seed

blossom into an extraordinary flower

To use the tears cried out of my eyes to water the dry ground around me

To give me a lot of love, support, and care

That became my stem and the protection that became my thorns

You were there to listen and help guide the growth of my scarlet rose petal from a rosebud

I appreciate you and everything you sacrificed, endured,

and persevered through for me

I love you mom

Love, your daughter
