Dear Regrets
Dear Regrets,
You are something that I never like to acknowledge. I have heard that digging up “old bones” so to speak, is unhealthy. I have heard, too that no one likes a person that lives in the past. The truth is, though, that we all relive the past; especially me now, as I am moving on to a prime time in my life. Wither you are in my dreams at night or in my thoughts by day, some memories are there always. They are constant wither I would like them to be or not.
Maybe I cannot let go for a reason. The more I contemplate and the more that I write, the more that I realize that you have helped shape me into the person that I am. Wither it was miniscule or colossal, it helped shape me. I may not forget the night when I made my mom sob in worry, but I will also never forget to text her back again. I may not forget the time when I did not tell who I cared for how I felt, but I will also never forget to share my feelings again.
So why write you? What I write to you now is not what I planned to, but I want to tell you that I am done letting you be a bother in my life. I will no longer look at you as mistakes, but I will now and forever see you as stepping stones along my journey in life; stepping stones that will not only lift me higher but will also push me further to becoming the person that I want to be. So regrets, I want to thank you for the lessons that you have taught me. I want to thank you for the person that I am today.
