Dear Ryland

Dear Ryland, It’s me, Dylan I should have been your friend But it’s too late; your life has met its end. We really miss your smile. We cry about it every once and a while. I should have been there for you in that time; You only said you were fine. No one believed that But no one wanted to chitchat I need to let you go It happened so long ago. It’s just so sad. It was so bad. Bullies ruined your mind, So now you leave behind. Your family cannot bear All the news that was shared. That sad day we put you in the ground, There were teary faces all around. You had your whole life ahead, But somehow you wound up dead. 14 was too young. Our hearts weighed a ton. Brian and Evan had it bad; You left them depressingly sad. Distance became a friend, The family bond was at its end. Some thought about being with you; Everyone knew who. We prayed every day. I lived afraid. One day they would do it, But one could not leave the other, I admit. I wish you could tell me you are okay; I need the reassurance to make it through my day. I wish I could apologize For all the little lies. We are now missing a hole In the family soul. I understand why you felt the need to leave, But now we have so much we have to grieve. I know I’ll accept it one day, But for now I search for a new way To live and carry on with my life. I will see you in the afterlife. So this is to you Ryland Love, cousin Dylan
