Dear San Saba...

Dear Friday night lights,

Your thoughts gave me hopes and dreams

Your supporters broke them

The dancers rebuilt them

Your endless failures

Ruined my Friday night smiles.

The field captured and took my youth

My tears, and my spirit.

Dear mill pond waters,

Your unclear waters

Made me see how unclear my future was

Your many problems became mine

Your sickness spread to me

And took a month and a half of my life.

Dear courtyard lunches,

Thanks for being the few times I was happy

Your sense of safety

Brought my laughter

My tears

And my uncalled for snorts.

Your endless lunches in the rain

The heated sun

And the windy environments

Forever rests in my heart.

Dear park swings,

You were the beginning to my forever

You were the start of something good from this low town.

From this hell I was forced to call home.

You are the thing that makes his smile break through

All the hate, the fakes

And the downright

Unacceptable

Dear townspeople,

Thanks for the endless drama.

The endless gossip

That I was drug into at a young age.

Thank you for never failing

To make me feel weak,

And desperate for more attention.

Dear San Saba,

Thank you

For nothing.

The good memories are small

And in a few

You were never my ideal

Not my high school experience

Not my life.

You were what I didn’t want.

I didn’t want fakes.

I wanted friends

So, dear San Saba.

I am done

Sincerely,

A girl, that you won’t see again.
