Dear Self Conscious

Hey I am done I am done with your ‘could be betters’ And your ‘wow that body is...’ I am done with ‘no makeup? you look gross’ And ‘nobody will ever want you’ I’m done I am free from your grasp Your awful talk Your negativity I am content with myself I feel happy when I look at myself Complements coming left and right My smile so bright No negativity around Or in my thoughts But that’s just something I wish I could say Because I can’t get rid of you You will always be near me Alongside me Bringing me down And tearing myself confidence But I have hope That slowly my heart Will find its path to self love And that my vision will accept me I have hope I have hope that you will become miniscule And when I see myself in that scaring mirror I will only smile and not cry And not be disgusted So watch your back Because I am coming for you
