Dear Society
Dear modern society
Why can't you accept me?
Myself is who you say to be,
but you're the author of my story.
You've put my life to the test,
but I'm not like the rest.
You made me feel depressed,
however, God has made me blessed.
He helped me embrace my pain.
I overcame all my shame.
He took over all my chains.
Amazing love is what I will gain.
You see because of you I was abused,
My boyfriends left me bruised,
My friends made me feel unused,
While you just sat there amused.
I began to feel like my world was on fire,
But I had only one desire.
Confidence is what I will acquire.
Sincerely, A survivor
