Dear society

Dear Society, You make us.You control usDictate our actionsOur moralsOur hates and likesOur appearances. You claim that you’re acceptingOf everything we do. But you only careAbout the things you want,Sweeping everything elseUnder the rug.Adding emphasisOn the old agendas.Denouncing anythingThat you don’t like. The women needed a push,And you kindly helped. The african americans complained,And you did too.The social injusticeWould not standIn your perfect little world. The way you careIs not right. It is very flawedJust as you are.Think about those topics,The ones you pushed away.Think about where theyEnded up. Did they succeedLike the others?Did they have an army,Backing their every move?Did they end up changingWhat was wrong and right? Think about the wayYou feel,When society backs you.Translate those feelingsOf joy and strength,To helpThose that are not As fortunate as you.Lend them strengthAnd optimismAnd support.
