Dear Summer

Dear Summer,
Our relationship has, most definitely, developed since my years as a child
We have shared many tears, smiles, through the years just you and I
Every fall we say our goodbyes, and this year is no different
This year, my dear summer, we have encountered many hurdles together
In spite of how your winds blew, or your sun shined,
You were always around when I needed you
You helped me grow, and mature, in ways I didn’t know were possible
When I glanced at your stars I felt as if I were on a plateau of bliss that I could only reach in a dream
Of course, there were moments where I hated you...I wanted you to leave early and make room for fall
But, you stood your ground and I loved you all over again for that
There were relationships you allowed to blossom, and those you allowed to fade away
You showed that even when things didn’t go my way, they would still, fall into place
I could always count on you sweet Summer…whether you smiled, cried, or grew angry
So as I prepare myself for our annual departure, I can’t help but get excited for next year...
I leave this with you to show my gratitude for all you've done during your short stay…and a thank you in advance for what’s to come
Love Always,
Shae
