Dear Sunflowers

Dear Sunflowers

It's been so long—since we've spoke

I'm beginning to forget

It's been awhile—since I've seen

The face I've never met

Where—did all those days go?

Racing through the fields

Not running from but running to

Things, that only kids could ever do

it's been so long—where have I been?

I must have changed—but so had you

I went back—to that field

But did not find you

Your petals—once so lovely

Beginning to brown

Your face—once so happy

Beginning to frown

Where—did all those days go?
