Dear Susan

Dear Susan,
I'm so sorry. I only wish I could be there for you during the night when you silently sob, wishing to not wake up in the morning. It's so hard to deal with everything you're dealing with and I know you feel weaker than ever, but you'll get through it. I got through it.
While the worst is yet to come you can't allow yourself to choke on the mountain of pills that make you feel like you're broken. You can't let the whispers you hear determine your value. You can't let the scars on your arms dictate your future. You're the strongest person I know.
I know you're alone and that you feel like the cold at night never stops, but this won't last forever. It might take years, and I haven't gotten there yet, but it needs to happen. Just like a good book, things won't end until things are okay again. You might not see that but I do, and for now that can be enough.
For now, I can be strong enough for both of us, you just need to stay alive.
Sincerely, Susan.
