Dear Sweet Moon

And unto you, Sweet Moon,

Reign down, swell in me, your illuring nature that will conquer the void and illuminate the darkness. You wake me, holding my tired downtrodden eyes through the dew stained glass. Why is it in my darkest hour you shine the brightest?

Years now, it has been. Hours since I began. To look up, to squint. Through the dew stains, through the gangly tree branches, into your radiant abyss which swallows me whole. Dearest Moon, bring me home.

You fight in my place, or rather you fill me during my fights, forgoing any injuries, expelling the danger. Without the threat, I thrive. It is here in the darkness, clouding my enemies that I learn who I will be.

Thank you, Sweet Moon. Thank you for finding me. This place you have brought, marked through grime, hate, longing, passion, has made me. I don’t have to be afraid, because with you I am home.
