Dear Teachers

Dear Teachers

are you aware

the way you're teaching

isn't fair

you follow the rules made by state

their restrictions held on too tight

but that's their mistake

you should teach your own way

and not be held down by chains

can't they see

students can't be taught the same way

Dear Teachers

the atmosphere in these classrooms

become such a bore

why not make learning fun

and shed some light into these rooms

our books are falling apart

page by page

we can barely make it by

how can we study

when all our resources are slowly disappearing

highschool should prepare us for college

but all I see is a babysitting service

Dear Teachers

you don't really care about

what you teach

but we're forced to listen

to those who can't teach

step aside

and let some inspiration in

you're suppose to be our guides

show us the way to our new lives

but when you don't care about your own life

how are you suppose to care about ours

Dear Teachers

you seem to care about drugs

and tell students not to take them

but how can we listen

to such hypocritical words

while we're denying them

you're out in the halls dealing them

some of you even buying them

how are students suppose to learn

in such a bad atmosphere

some of us don't even have parents to look up to

what are we suppose to do

when the ones who are suppose to be our guide

aren't even there to help us on our homework

Dear Teachers

our futures are held on by our faith

but their based on a belief

that with a simple test

we will be shown

if we're even good enough to have a good life

some students make bad decisions

but does that really mean there is no hope

even in the worst situation theres always a light

but you seem to dim that light

to all but those who seem to pass your own test

Dear Teachers

you are our role models

why not act like it

you should be setting an example

and helping us with our futures

we have no choice

but to depend on you
