Dear Thirteen Year Old Self,

Dear Thirteen Year Old Self,

I know you dont wanna talk about your feelings

Cause everyone’s looking down on you, including yourself

And I know this pain

Won’t go away

Not today, not tomorrow .

I want you to learn, you don’t have to smile through the tough words

You can even curse the world, when it hurts the worst.

I know you hate cliches

Cause you’re such an original

So just hear me out.

Today it might show rain

But it won’t always stay the same

There's hope coming your way

With a new tomorrow.

But hey little spunky girl

This ain’t a fight between you and the world

Don’t you think, you gotta have it figured out at thirteen,

or fifteen,

or seventeen.

To be honest,

When I look in the mirror,

I tell myself the exact same thing

Cause we’re more alike than you think.

But sometimes, you gotta throw the lock and cry on the bathroom floor

And sometimes, you gotta blast John Mayer to remember you can feel again

Sometimes, you gotta realize that your life's worth so much more.

Please, just remember your life is worth so much more.

There is so much beauty.

It is coming.

Please, love yourself.

Love, Who You Will Become
