Dear Umbrella
Dear Umbrella,
I sit on a moving train
going fast to an unfamiliar place.
Holding close what is mine
and seeing multiple faces.
For you sit next to me
no mouth, no nose, no eyes
yet watching me , and comforting
as the time goes by.
I am sorry I am careless
and don't treat you ideal.
I take you out when the sky is crying
and lock you away
when the tears are okay
transparent but helping me,
guiding the way.
Letting me jump into puddles
for you can't hold me all.
You keep me put in good and bad,
surround me so only the ones I love
can come underneath and understand.
You're my cane although
I'm not crippled, and have have legs.
You understand that the cracks in
front of me need to be checked
before I can stand;
strong, firm, and in the palms of hand,
I hold you tight and you help me feel grand.
The sound you make forever
musically in sync with my shoes
and my heart,
each bruise and scratch
on your soul brings about
more character to my endearing home.
Sincerely,
Your Forever Grateful Owner
