Dear Uncle Moan,

Uncle Moan,

I know you are far away in Heaven right now and it has been a while since we actually were able to sit together and talk.  It seemed as though I was talking with you every day, and then suddenly you were taken away.  I've had to work myself through many situations without you, but I keep your words in the back of my mind.  I pull from the experiences that we shared together in so many situations.   I am not sure if you actually realized how much I was actually listening to you and absorbing everything you told me.

I am soon to graduate high school and have already been accepted to the college of my choice.  I will be starting a new phase of my life in the Fall.  It is exciting and terrifying at the same time.  It pulls me farther away from the time that we spent together.  I am afraid of moving so far ahead with my life that I lose track of the relationship that we had.  You were so much like a father to me.  I miss having you to go to for advice or when my parents are after me about something.  I would love to share this exciting time of my life with you.

I just want you to know that I miss you and will never forget you.  Thank you for the influence you had in my life.  You lived a lifetime with muscular dystrophy, yet it never defined you.  I know I can do anything because of who you were.

Love always,

Chase
