Dear Vulnerability

Dear Vulnerability,

You attacked me in my weakest moments. You make me feel as if I am a soldier that is on the front lines. "Kennedy trust your gut" Shot! "Kennedy this person will be different" Shot! "Kennedy follow your heart" Shot! "Kennedy please please just give me another chance" Shot! Shot! Shot! Shot after shot I develop these wounds. These wounds have names like trust issues, depression, sadness, and secret. These wounds feel like they will never leave and that I have lost the battle with each one slowly breaking me down. Vulnerability as you break me down on this battlefield I learn to find the beauty in you. Without you, I could not have shown the world who I really am. As I continue to go through the front lines I become bulletproof shot after shot nothing can hurt me nor hinder me. I begin to express myself. I inspire to be different. You taught me to not be like anyone else. You build me up and break me down like an old building being knocked down to be created into something beautiful. Every time you break me, I get back up ready for next battle you throw my way. I know when to show you to the world and when not to. Thank you for putting me on the front lines!
