Dear West Helena,
You made me who I am.
You put me through a struggle as a young child,
But I grew into something greater, a young, strong-minded, black man
I will never forgive you for what you put me through,
But I must thank you.
Without you, I could not be able to bear the hardships life throws at me
Without you, I would not understand why certain people think the way they do
Without you, I will be able to take my life to greater heights
I have to get my mind away from you,
You have a way of trapping people’s minds and keeping them down
Not me, I won’t fall into that category
I love you West Helena but I have to rise above you
Remember my name, because I will never forget about you
Love,
