Dear White America

Listen up America!
My people won’t stop until all this gunfire has ceased.
Every day I walk up and down these streets Wearing a sign that says “soon to be deceased”. All because you see us as a frenemy,
You believe one race is more dangerous than the real enemies.

You see I may not be a slave...
But I guarantee you not much has changed.
All you did was “declare my freedom”
And change the location of my chains.

I’m telling you, my brothers and sisters,
They think they can play us like fools!
Instead of using whips,
The police are their new tools!

They expect us to see all of this brutality!
And accept it as a new reality!
But I refuse to turn a blind eye to all these fatalities!

You want to put one in-between our eyes?
Well let me put one in-between yours!
Unlike your bullets, Mine are words that will hit you in your core.
Shake up this nation's very existence
Until oppression is no more.

Brothers and sisters must rise up,^
But we can not do this alone.
I'm calling all colors, backgrounds, and native tongues

To dig up this nation's roots and lay a whole new foundation
One that we the people Can call a great nation.

So join the resistance because there is much work to be done
Now let us all march on “till victory’s won”
