Dear, Whover Cares To Listen

Dear, whoever cares to listen

Man it's really not the same these days

Kids ain't even going through the childhood phase

Your kid is 7 and alone with the responsibilities of a 17 year old

The only sickness they should be having is a candy-related nausea

But your baby tosses in his bed with a stress induced insomnia

How can you say you got dreams and visions of World Peace

When your 10 year old cousin's at your uncle's house too afraid to go to sleep

Some kids grew up struggling with the physical, rape and abuse

But sometimes it's what you didn't do that tied the noose

You hurt and abandoned their momma

You were never around to listen to their kiddy drama

Like what they learned in class

Or what was in her Valentines Day goodie bag

Or the group of little boys that kept calling him a fag

They never felt your love once so they grew up to find it in blunts

The weed turned into Hennessy

That Hennessy turned into accepting mediocracy from a lover that never loved them

Or could just simply be in a form of violence

That stemed from depression and insecurity that was never silenced

But these kids grow up

They got their own lives to lead

Lets's just pray that they don't make your mistakes with their seed

This is freaking amazing and it honestly addresses the sickness that society tries to hide. I applaud you..the rythme, tone and structure of this poem is brilliant!
