Dear World

Dear world,

I ask you why.

Why do you do this?

Warfare, hatred, poverty.

Why have you chosen this path?

What makes you think it’s better,

What makes you think this is how it should be?

Every person,

Every single one of us has a choice.

And yet this is how you have chosen,

Majority rules.

I wish I had grown up to see something else,

A happy reality,

Maybe not perfect,

But almost anything is better than what we have.

Terrorism, protests, genocide.

The books I read when I was little,

They were all lies.

The world is not sunshine and rainbows like they told me,

Apparently I was just too young to know the truth.

Too young?

For what?

For life, for reality, for truth?

Too young to know what really goes on in this world.

How did it come to this?

Time to change, world.

Children are watching.

Sincerely,

Disillusioned.
