Dear you,

Dear you,

The first time I saw you

I knew you weren't like the others

There was a radiant glow about you

That had only appeared dimly in others

I was a damaged heart

And a lonely soul

Gray skies had become the norm

Yet your light started to crack through

Because of you

I remembered what it was like

To feel the sun's rays on my face

With blue skies

And day by day

You took me there

It started with hello

But you understood me the way I wanted to be understood

Not the version I put up for everyone else

I don't know how you did it

But I'm eternally grateful

For you taking me

To the days

I never thought I'd see again

Yours truly,

Dalton K. Steiner
